LIBRARY TO HOST EXPUNGEMENT SEMINAR
BENTON, KY – The Marshall County Public Library will host a Criminal Record Expungement Seminar on Thursday, March 28, at their @Benton branch. The seminar will be conducted by Kentucky Legal Aid staff attorney Catherine Fuller.
“We are happy to be able to bring this program to Marshall County,” says Marshall County Public Library @Benton Branch Manager Lenisa Jones. “This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in getting their record cleared to ask questions from a knowledgeable and experienced source.”
The Expungement clinic will be a short presentation concerning expungement law in Kentucky. Fuller will answer questions concerning the process and address common issues with the expungement laws in the state. An informational packet will be available at the clinic to assist individuals with the process. Kentucky Legal Aid may be available to assist individuals with the expungement applications. Fuller will include eligibility information in the presentation and contact information for assistance.
Fuller obtained her undergraduate degree from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and paralegal studies. She completed her Juris Doctor degree at Salmon P. Chase College of Law before clerking with the McCracken County Circuit Court judge, Jeff Hines. She accepted a position with the Paducah office of Kentucky Legal Aid in 2005 and pursued her passion of public service. She continues to fight for the indigent, underserved, and abused population as a staff attorney for Kentucky Legal Aid. Currently, Catherine’s focus is coordinating the program’s expungement clinic in the area and assisting survivors of domestic violence with housing, public benefits, and family law issues.
