 Library Celebrates Book Lovers

Benton, KY – The Marshall County Public Library wrapped up its annual I Love to Read Program last Tuesday with a Grand Finale Party. The celebration was the conclusion of the adult reading program which the library hosts every February for adults.

“Libraries have a long history of encouraging children to become readers, but too often the adults are overlooked,” said Ginger Russell, Adult Services Librarian. “Our I Love to Read program is a way for us to encourage our adult patrons to pick up a book and enjoy the thrill of discovering a new story or learning new information.”

Now in its twelfth year, I Love to Read had 465 participants who read 3,865 books during the four weeks of February. Participants earned prizes based on the number of books read and were also entered into prize drawings at each benchmark. Branch winners were Carla Collins, Teddy Coffee, and Sue Gardener. Theresa Warford was the grand prize winner.

The Marshall County Public Library offers a variety of programs throughout the year for people of all ages. For more information, or to see a schedule of programs and events, visit them online at www.marshallcolibrary.org.
